Dyson V6 Slim Cordless Vacuum Review!
*This post is NOT sponsored by Dyson, I purchased with my own money*
With the hype about Dyson Vacuum cleaners, I have always wanted one…..SO….this Black Friday, I finally just had to get one!! I wanted something I could vacuum my car with, along with my carpets, and of course did not break the bank.
With all that in mind, I ended up getting the Dyson V6 Slim Cordless Vacuum! I really am not a huge fan of yellow, so I wanted the white version (Dyson Digital V6 Origin Cordless Vacuum), and after looking over the specs, there was no difference, but price. Of course color does not matter as long as it works!
The best part about the Dyson V6 Slim Cordless Vacuum, it can be used as three different tools….a full vacuum for your floors, you can remove the main head, and just have the extended arm for those nasty cobwebs, and lastly, the mini-cordless vacuum for your car.
Along with the vacuum you get a mounting bracket, which is very nice for charging the vacuum. You also get Click-fit cleaning tools, which include a brush/ flat extension (which works great in my car).
I will say when using this vacuum, I feel like my house is disgusting!!! I have a Roomba, and also use a Oreck now and then, and well, the Dyson has picked up a LOT of dust and cat hair (Eww!). Each time I have used this is in the past two weeks, it has picked up a lot of dust. The one downfall, being cordless, it does not hold much in the compartment. However, it is VERY easy to empty, push down the latch and the dirt falls out. A negative note, it seems the dust just “poofs” out of the container, so I NEED to do it outside ? but at least it is picking it all up.
So the run time….this is where it is not so great, being cordless, it has a battery life of about 20 minutes (running it normal) which honestly isn’t the best. There is a MAX button on the vacuum (for more suction), but I have not used this yet because of the battery life. I do only have a one floor apartment, so it’s not a huge deal, but I could not imagine it being great for a house.
Some more facts about the vacuum (From Dyson):
- Motorized cleaner head with stiff nylon bristles and soft carbon fiber filaments, it removes ground-in dirt from carpets and fine dust from hard floors
- Powered by the Dyson digital motor V6
- Motor spins at up to 110,000 rpm
- Generates powerful suction to create the most powerful cordless vacuum
- 2-Tier Radial cyclones
- Made from the strongest materials available, selected for their durability and lightweight properties
- 2-year warranty
Two other partially negative things I have noticed,
- When you are using just the handle part, you must watch how you tilt it, or the dirt will start to fall out again.
- Unless I have not figured it out yet, you must hold the handle in the whole time, it does not just go on its own like regular vacuums when turned on
Overall, this Dyson V6 Slim Cordless Vacuum DEFINITELY has the power! It is picking up so much dirt that I did not realize was on my floor due to other vacuums missing it. So, Yes I am happy with my purchase, but there are some areas where I think they could have made some improvements (maybe they have on the newer, more expensive models). However, for the price I paid, I am content and will be using this over my other vacuums now.
Walmart actually stills has this on Rollback for the same price I paid Black Friday ($199) if you are looking for one for yourself or a gift! Dyson V6 Slim Cordless Vacuum, 209476-01
