Newmans Own Organics
I got the opportunity to work with Newman’s Own Organics once again to try out some newer products that they came out with.

Who is Newman’s Own Organics? (No, not the pizza company)….

Newman’s Own Organics was established as a division of Newman’s Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001. The sale of Newman’s Own Organics products generates money for the Newman’s Own Foundation to give away. Since 1982 Paul Newman and the Newman’s Own Foundation have donated more than $350 million dollars to educational and charitable organizations worldwide.

Certified organic by Oregon Tilth. Ingredients have been grown on farms that have not used artificial fertilizers or pesticides for three years or more. The farms and processors have been certified by an independent third party. Kosher certification by Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, 333 Seventh Avenue, New York.

When I received my box of items it included: Super Dark Chocolate Cups with Peanut Butter Centers and also Raspberry centers, Pop’s Corn (Butter, Light Butter, Unsalted), Balsamic Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sour Licorice Twists (Strawberry, Mango, and Apple), and Spelt Ginger Snaps.

I was excited to try out all these different items. The first thing I tried was the sour strawberry licorice, it was not bad. It was the perfect amount of sourness, it was subtle but you could taste it.  My only problem with the licorice was that it was a little hard on my teeth when it came to chewing.

Next was the Super Dark Chocolate Cups with Peanut Butter Centers which tasted like regular peanut butter cups with a little less sweetness. I thought that they were really good, they were the perfect texture and softness. I had to end up sharing these, which my boyfriend also really liked these. Keeping him away from chocolate is not an easy thing.

Then we had the butter popcorn which was great for a movie night.  I would say that this was a little more bland than I am used to but it is a lot healthier for you. I did add a little salt to give it a little more flavor but  I still enjoyed it with and without the salt. Remember if you want more flavor just add it on and your good to go with any of the Pop’s Corn. I would say this reminded me of air-popped popcorn, so it wasn’t a bad thing.

When it came to the Olive Oil, I decided to fry my chicken in it. It came out really good! This olive oil has a mild smell, co nothing overpowering. Another plus…it is organic…which means better for you 🙂 at l,east better than normal olive oil I normally use to fry my foods.

I had used the Organic Balsamic Vinegar of Modena on my salads. I think this gives my salad the perfect “pop”, it just adds that extra bit of taste that is missing. It can be a little much if I do not drizzle it around more evenly but overall very good.

Lastly is the Spelt Ginger Snaps…I really liked them. They had the perfect amount of ginger taste but were not overpowering, along with a great crunch.

Besides the products I got to try out this time Newmans Own Organics has a lot of other items. So if none of these seem to jump out at you, check out the other items that are available. You will find something that you like!
