100 Natural Eating Smoothie Recipes

Unlike many recipes, smoothies do not have exact measurements. So while the recipes below are great starting points, you might want to tweak them to your desired consistency and taste.

Preparing a smoothie is quite simple. You just need to add the ingredients to a sturdy high-speed blender, one that can handle crushing ice, and blend until smooth. Garnish with fresh fruit, chocolate shavings, or your favorite topping. For this reason, we will not be including the instructions below.

Tips for making smoothies:
1. Using ice or frozen fruit will create a thicker consistency than using liquids – but beware, if you use ice, your smoothie may not have a creamy texture.
2. Make sure your ingredients are cut into small pieces. Blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are typically small enough as is; however, strawberries, cucumber and other fruits and veggies need to be chopped smaller.
3. Add the liquid first so it can help move your ingredients around.
4. If you’re after a sweet treat, use a fruit juice as they contain more natural sugar.
5. For a smoother treat, use milk, Greek yogurt or ice cream
6. Start by blending on a slow setting to get your ingredients moving. Then gradually increase the speed until fully blended.
7. Any liquid can be added including water, coffee & tea
8. Freeze juices, coffee, tea, etc into ice cubes so your smoothie isn’t watered down
9. Add interest by adding a dash of spice such as cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, mint, etc – but add a very small amount at a time
10. Boost the nutrition by adding ground flax seed, wheat germ, chia seeds, raw cacao, matcha, nut butters, and avocado, oatmeal and protein powders.

Strawberry Oatmeal

1 1/2 cups ice cubes, 1 medium banana, 1 cup frozen, whole strawberries, no sugar added, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk, 2 scoops whey protein powder & honey to taste.

Banana Coconut

1 cup coconut milk, 1 medium banana, 2 tablespoons dried coconut, 2 tablespoons chia seeds, 1 cup raw spinach, 2 scoops protein powder

Strawberry Coconut

1 cup coconut milk, 1 cup fresh, sliced strawberries, 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks. 2 tablespoons coconut flakes. Juice of 1/2 lime, or to taste, Sucanat or coconut sugar as needed

Double Berry

1 cup each frozen blueberries & strawberries, no sugar added, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk , 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup drained and rinsed BPA-free canned cannellini beans

Almond Chicory

2 tsp chicory flavored instant coffee, 3 prunes, pitted, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 tsp natural unsweetened almond butter, 6 ice cubes

Cinnamon Banana

2 bananas, 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup soy milk, 2 teaspoons honey, a pinch of cinnamon and 1 cup ice.

Strawberry Banana

1 banana, 1 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup hemp milk, 2 teaspoons honey and 1 cup ice.

Strawberry Shortcake

2 cups strawberries, 1 cup crumbled pound cake, 1 1/2 cups almond milk, 1 1/2 cups ice, and Agave syrup to taste.

Coconut Triple Berry

1/2 cup each blackberries, strawberries and raspberries, 1 cup coconut milk, 1 cup ice and Sucanat to taste.

Raspberry Orange

1 cup orange juice, 1 cup raspberries, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup ice, and Sucanat to taste.

Peach Mango

1 cup each fresh or frozen peaches and mango, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup ice, 1/2 to 1 banana to sweeten.

Almond Honeydew

2 cups chopped honeydew melon, 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup ice and honey to taste.

Almond Cantaloupe

2 cups chopped cantaloupe, the juice of 1/2 lime, 3 tablespoons Sucanat, 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk and 1 cup ice.

Carrot Apple Nutmeg

1 cup carrot juice ice cubes, 1 cup apple juice ice cubes a pinch of nutmeg.

Kale Cucumber

2 medium cucumbers, seeded and chopped, 1 frozen banana, 1 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk 1 1/2 cup kale, loosely packed with stems removed and sucanat or honey to taste.

Strawberry Kiwi

2 cup frozen strawberries, 3 peeled kiwis, 2 tablespoons sucanat and 1 cup ice.

Cherry Vanilla

1 1/2 cups cherries, pitted and frozen, 1 1/4 cups vanilla soy milk, 3 tablespoons sucanat, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, and 1 cup ice.

Sweet & Tangy Tangerine

4 tangerines, peeled and seeded, the juice of 2 limes, 1/4 cup honey and 1 cup ice.

Apricot Almond

1 1/2 cups apricot nectar, 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons almond butter and 1 cup ice.

Grape

2 cups seedless red grapes, 2 cups Concord grape juice ice cubes

Blueberry Pear

1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, 1 pear, peeled and chopped, 1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt, 1 1/2 cups ice, and sucanat to taste.

Banana Date

2 frozen bananas, 3/4 cup chopped pitted dates, the juice of 1 lime and 1 1/2 cups soy milk.

Peach Ginger

2 cups frozen sliced peaches, 1 1/2 cups hemp milk, 3 tablespoons brown sugar and 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger.

Grapefruit

2 grapefruits, peeled and seeded, 3 to 4 tablespoons sucanat, 1 cup ice and a pinch of cinnamon.

Strawberry Banana Grapefruit

2 grapefruits, peeled and seeded, 8 strawberries, 2 frozen bananas and 1 cup Green yogurt.

Pomegranate Cherry

1 cup frozen pitted cherries, 3/4 cup pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch of cinnamon and 2 cups ice.

Almond Chai

1 1/2 cups chai tea concentrate with 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup ice, 1/2 tsp maca powder, 1 tbsp flax seed and Agave syrup to taste

Blueberry Banana

1 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen blueberries, ½ to 3/4 cup coconut milk, 1 tablespoon each honey and lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract and 1 cup ice.

Almond Pineapple

2 cups chopped fresh pineapple, 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese, 1/4 cup almond milk, 2 teaspoons honey, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, a pinch each of nutmeg and 2 cups ice.

Watermelon

3 cups cubed seeded watermelon, frozen until hard, 1 cup cubed fresh seeded watermelon, 1 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, the juice of 1 lime and Sucanat to taste.

Pineapple Coconut

2 cups coconut water ice cubes, 2 cups chopped fresh pineapple, 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon honey and 1/2 cup coconut water.

Apple Ginger

1 chopped peeled apple, a 1/2-inch piece peeled ginger, the juice of 2 limes, 1/4 cup honey, 1 cup water and 2 cups ice.

Blackberry Raspberry Vanilla

1 pint frozen blackberries, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt and 1 tablespoon honey.

Orange Creamsicle

3/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, 1/4 cup cold orange juice, 1 1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt and 1/2 cup ice.

Mango Acai

8-ounce frozen acai berry puree, 1 cup mango, chopped and frozen, 1/2 cup orange juice and 2 cups ice.

Spiced Tofu Pumpkin

1/2 cup each pumpkin puree and silken tofu, 3 1/2 tablespoons brown sucanat, 1 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of salt and 1 cup ice.

Cinnamon Coffee

1/2 cup chilled espresso or strong coffee, 1/2 cup almond milk, 3 1/2 tablespoons sucanat, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon almond extract and 1 1/2 cups ice.

Mocha Coffee

1/2 cup chilled espresso or strong coffee, 3 tablespoons sugar-free chocolate syrup, 1 cup soy milk, 1 tablespoon powdered soy protein concentrate and 1 1/2 cups ice.

Banana PB&J

1 frozen banana with 1 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup natural creamy peanut butter, 1/4 cup wheat germ, and 2 tablespoons of your favorite sugar-free jelly.

Apple Peanut Butter

1 apple, peeled and chopped, 3 tablespoons natural creamy peanut butter, 2 tablespoons flaxseeds, 1 1/2 cups soy milk, 1 1/2 cup ice and honey or Agave syrup to taste.

Pomegranate Berry

1 cup frozen blueberries, 3/4 cup each beet juice and pomegranate juice ice cubes and honey, sucanat or Agave syrup to taste.

V-8 Vegetables

1 cups V-8 vegetable juice ice cubes, 1/4 cup V-8 vegetable juice (liquid), 1/2 peeled cucumber, 3 kale leaves, 8 spinach leaves and the juice of 1/2 lemon.

Pineapple Mango

1 cup each fresh pineapple and mango, chopped, 1 cup coconut water, 1 teaspoon toasted coconut flakes, a pinch of ground allspice and 1 cup ice

Peanut Butter Banana

1 frozen banana, 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter, 1/3 cup help milk, 2 tablespoons malted milk powder, 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder and 2 cups ice.

Almond Green Tea

1 1/2 cups cold extra-strong green tea ice cubes, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/3 cup almonds, 1/4 cup honey and 1/2 cup ice.

Chocolate Covered Banana

1 frozen banana, 1 cup low-fat chocolate frozen yogurt, 1/2 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup ice.

Chocolate Covered Raspberry

1 cup low-fat chocolate frozen yogurt, 1 cup frozen raspberries, 2 tablespoons Sucanat, 3/4 cup soy milk and 3/4 cup ice.

Lemon Berry

2 cups strawberries, juice of 1/2 a lemon, 1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, 1/4 cup wheat germ, 1 1/2 cups ice and honey, Agave syrup or Sucanat to taste.

Mint Chocolate Cookies

1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, 1 cup almond milk, 3 tablespoons sugar-free chocolate syrup (or 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder) and 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract.

Coconut Oatmeal Cookie

1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, 1 cup coconut milk, 5 tablespoons rolled oats, 1 teaspoon brown sugar and a pinch of ground cinnamon. A few raisins (optional)

Cake Batter

1 1/2 cup frozen vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, 1/4 cup oat flour, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup vanilla almond milk, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract about 6 ice cubes.

Carrot Cake

2 cups soy milk, 2 frozen bananas, 10 baby carrots, chopped, 1 cup rolled oats, 1/4 cup pecans, 1/4 cup dates, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and juice from 1/2 a lemon.

Waffle Cone Twist Ice Cream

3/4 cup each frozen vanilla yogurt and frozen chocolate yogurt, 1 cup almond milk and 1/2 waffle cone crumbled on top.

Lemon Poppy Seed

2 teaspoons poppy seeds, the zest and juice of 1/2 lemon, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/3 cup sucanat and 1/2 cup silk soy milk and 1/2 cup ice.

Green Apple Spinach

2 cups spinach, 1 granny smith apple, peeled and chopped, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or silken tofu), 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 tablespoon wheat germ, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice, and 1 cup ice.

Tomato Carrot

1 1/4 cups tomato juice ice cubes, 1/4 cup carrot juice, 1/2 cucumber, peeled, 1/2 celery stalk, 1/4 cup parsley, 1/4 cup spinach, and 1/2 cup ice.

Mint Jalapeno

1/3 cup fresh mint, 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded, 2 1/2 tablespoons honey, a pinch of salt and 2 cups plain Greek yogurt, 2 cups ice and a pinch each of toasted cumin seeds and cilantro.

Pineapple Tofu

2 cups diced frozen mango, 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice ice cubes, 3/4 cup silken tofu, 1/4 cup lime juice, 1 teaspoon freshly grated lime zest and a pinch of ground allspice.

Cucumber Kiwi Kombucha

Avocado Basil

Blueberry Muffin

Cranberry

1 cup water, 1/2 cup frozen cranberries, 1 apple, cored and diced, 1/2 lemon, peeled and seeded, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg and honey or sugar to taste.

Apple Kale Celery
