Don’t Let Bladder Leakage Win! Depend Silhouette Active Fit Briefs Can Help! #underwareness

One thing that can become embarrassing for women….bladder leakage! While I have not personally experienced this health issue, I know a few people who have, including my close friend.

When I think of bladder leakage, the first thing that comes to my mind, older adults. However, that is not the case! Did you know there are more women in their 20’s than 80’s with bladder leakage? I was not aware of this until recently. Most people with this condition are 50 and younger, which makes me think….I should have a plan in case this happens to me in the future.

Most of us have heard of Depends, but are afraid to use them because they do not want to wear a “diaper” type product, or are afraid of being active while wearing these. WELL….now Depends has come out with a pretty awesome product to help defeat these thoughts….Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs!

The difference with this product? Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs actually feel and look like real underwear, even with a lower rise look. These are available in both black and beige colors, which will fit with almost every outfit. Also, these are a new moderate-absorbency brief that feature a thin design for complete comfort. If you are still hesitant, what if I tell you that….

Depend is entering year three of Underwareness, a social movement and charitable cause to break down the bladder leakage stigma. As part of Underwareness, the Depend brand is:

• Encouraging people to show their support for women with bladder leakage. For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness and featuring Depend products, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million, through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.

How great is that?!

Back on bladder leakage itself…..it is something everyone should be aware of. Since I personally do not experiencing this, my friend was nice enough to answer some questions for me. She is currently a mom of three, only 24 years old and tries to be as active as time allows her, while working a full-time job.

-When did you first experience bladder leakage? “After I had my first child, something just was not right, I could not laugh without some leakage happening”

– How did you go about finding solutions for protection? “The first thing I did was Google of course, then I realized it happens to all women. I started using pantyliner’s, which most of the time did the job, but not always.”

-What feelings did you have when you realized you have bladder leakage? “Embarrassment it was something I did not even want to let my husband know about. Plus you have to worry about when the next “time” may be, and hope you are prepared.”

-Do you have any tips or advice for others experiencing bladder leakage? “It happens to TONS of people in the world. I got over my embarrassment feeling once I realized that, so the quicker you do also, the quicker your life will get back to normal. I suggest carrying around some extra pads in your purse, just in case the current one does not hold well.”
