It is that time of year again, SUPER BOWL time!! With the Super Bowl being here that also means party time or just a friendly get-together. Whether your team made the cut or not, this is the perfect time to get some close friends together. One issue that can arise with this time of year, the amount of money being spent to host these parties. Why not keep everyone happy by shopping at Save-A-Lot?! Not only will you still get the same great tasting food, you will save a good amount of money at the same time.
I decided to do a little shopping at my local Save-A-Lot in Lancaster, PA to see what I could come up with for gameday….
One main food at most Super Bowl parties….PIZZA!! Save-A-Lot has everything to make your own pizzas, the best part, pizza crust came in a 3 pack!! I did also buy some canned biscuits for some mini pizzas, but then realized they were honey butter, maybe next time, but still another awesome idea! This would be perfect for any children attending.
Follow this 4-ingredient simple pizza recipe (plus a few of my own toppings included) for a great game day treat:
- Ultra Thin Pizza Crust (3 Pack)
- Pepperoni
- Whole chunk mozzarella cheese
- Pizza Sauce
That is all the ingredients you need for a basic pizza, I did go ahead and add ham and banana peppers to mine for some extra flavor. The cost of all these ingredients is less than the cost of one pizza at most local pizza shops, and you get 3 out of this, plus the great homemade taste.

While I am sure everyone knows how to put a pizza together, here is the basic steps:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Grade your mozzarella cheese
- Place your sauce on the crust
- Add the cheese
- Add the toppings
- Cook for about 10 minutes
I thought this pizza turned out pretty good for being ultra thin crust, and if you do not need all 3 crusts, you can freeze them up to a month to make later.
Another great Super Bowl food I made was macaroni salad, which you can view the recipe here! Very simple to make and Save-A-Lot carries all the ingredients for this also
The moral of this post….why spend money at pricey grocery stores when you can save up to 40% right here at Save-A-Lot?! Save-A-Lot is also your BIG GAME Headquarters for all your recipe needs along with your paper products your need to serve your wonderful foods!
